"Mlijekoprodukt" and "Subotica Dairy" for the French - "Danube Foods Group" is negotiating about the sale with the companies "Lactalis" and "Danone"

The Company "Danube Foods Group", a part of the Investment Fund " Salford ", is leading negotiations on the sale of " Subotica Dairy" and the Bosnian "Mlijekoprodukt", with the French giants "Lactalis" and "Danone".
"Lactalis" is already holding a dairy plant "Inmer" from Gradacac in the BiH market, and the " Danube Foods Group " is the biggest player in the Serbian dairy market.
According to Banja Luka's Newspapers "Independent Newspaper", negotiations between the representatives of "Danube Foods Group", Food Division of the British investment company" Salford ", the French have come a long way and it is negotiated about the price. "Danube Foods Group" is asking for "Mlijekoprodukt" 28 million KM (approximately 14 million EUR).
"Salford" owns in Serbia "Bambi Banat" and "Knjaz Milos", Subotica based " Dairy " and Belgrade " Imlek " through which they are the majority owners of the Banja Luka " Dairy " and" Mlijekoprodukt".
"Independent" learns that "Salford" is not planning for now to sell "Lactalis" and Banja Luka, "Dairy", which is currently closing the factory in the capital of the Srpska Republic and is opening a new and a larger one in the industrial zone in Laktasi.
"Salford", however, is rapidly implementing ownership restructuring within the group. As part of this process, "Dairy" will be moved from the hands of Subotica "Dairy" to Belgrade's "Imlek", most likely so that Banja Luka company would be excluded from the portfolio of Subotica company, for whom the second French food giant is interested in - "Danone".
"Lactalis is the third largest dairy group in the world and a leading producer of French cheeses. Annually buys more than 9.2 billion liters of milk and the amount of the acquired raw milk occupies a second position in the world.
