2 million EUR invested in the new plant, "Water Vrnjci"

Factory of water and juices, "Water Vrnjci" from Vrnjacka spa has invested 2 million EUR in a new production line for filling of water in glass bottles, said yesterday (14 July, 2010) General manager of the Factory, Radovan Simovic.

Line Capacity is 16,000 bottles per hour, and stores will get the new 1 liter bottles, 0.33 and 0.25 liters, he said to the journalists.

Making of bottles has been agreed with the Serbian glass factory from Paracin, which will, according to Simovic, substitute the import of packaging worth half a million euros in this year, that is, the import worth one million euros in 2011.

Director of "Water Vrnjci" expressed his hope that the new glass packaging will enable greater exports of water, especially in the markets of Russia.

Simovic said that in the first six months, "Water Vrnjci" produced 65 million liters of water, which is 22% higher than at the same time last year.

He added that until the end of this year, he expected production of 130 million liters, which is four times more than in 2005 when they started this large investment in the renewal of production and when the production of water and juice was 40 million liters

- Semi-annual income of the "Water Vrnjci ", which employs 270 workers, was 750 million dinars which is 20% higher than in the first six months of the 2009 - said Simovic.

According to him, in this year the export will be between 700,000 and 800,000 euros which is about 50% more than last year, when it exported goods worth about € 500,000 mainly in the countries of the former Yugoslavia and Australia, U.S., Canada to Germany.

Market share in the sale of natural mineral water "Water Vrnjci" is slightly higher than 20% in this year and about two percentage points higher than in 2009. According to this data, "Water Vrnjci" is on the third place in the market of mineral waters in Serbia.

Total investment in "Water Vrnjci" which has been since 2004 in the property of the Belgrade company "Ekstra pet", in the past five years amounted to approximately 8 million EUR, while by the end of the year it is expected to invest another million in production, as they said in the company.
