Belgrade Gets Space for Parking and Charging of Electric Scooters

Belgrade got its first space for the parking and charging of electric scooters and bicycles at Kalemegdan, which will be free for use for all citizens and visitors of Belgrade, the PE Belgrade Fortress (Beogradska tvrdjava) announced today.

This initiative was launched within the “Tockologija” project, where it has been recognized that an increasing number of citizens is accepting alternative ways of transport due to the pandemic, but also that there’s a growing number of initiatives for the reduction of the emission of harmful gases coming from cars.

The “Smart City” type of a station, which combines secure parking and charging of electric scooters is available in the Mali Kalemegdan section of the park, in the location between the staircase and Carigradski Drum.

The space is unlocked through the Bikeep mobile app or through a contactless card and has four levels of security (a steel structure, video surveillance, a siren and the sending of a signal in case of a theft attempt).

– We thereby want to enable a free movement of the users from home to work and back, while being sure that their vehicle is secure and fully charged at any moment – the initiator of the project, Marko Arambasic, said.
