Minister of Environment and Environmental Planning in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Oliver Dulic, confirmed yesterday (July, 13th, 2010) that the most serious potential buyer of the Wagon Factory "Bratstvo" from Subotica was the Slovakian company "Tatra vagonka", it was announced on the website of the Government of Serbia.
With the Director of Serbian Railways, Milovan Markovic, Dulic visited the Wagon Factory "Bratstvo", which for the purposes of this public enterprise repaired and delivered 95 freight cars.
The Minister pointed out that half of the total production of "Bratstvo" was purposed for "Serbian Railways", and he pointed out that the factory had been in a very bad situation few months ago and that it had been threatened by a bad fate of privatized companies, while now it had a chance for recovery.
Markovic said that "Bratstvo" would rebuild a total of 145 freight cars of Serbian Railways, thanks to incentive measures by the Serbian government.
He added that this year it would be allocated 2.1 billion dinars from the budget for the program to revive the domestic industry of rail vehicles.
