Promist, the new owner of Azotara Pancevo, plans to relaunch production at that company, the director of Promist, Danilo Tomasevic, says for eKapija.

– The plan is to launch a part of the production, first the facilities necessary for the production of liquid fertilizer UAN, and then, at a later date, of granulated fertilizer KAN as well – Tomasevic said.

The projected capacity of the production, according to him, is 250-300 thousand tons a year.

Further plans also entail the development of HIP Azotara toward the production of fertilizer, as well as the development of the distribution of fertilizer in the country and the region.

– We also plan to establish a strategic partnership with local and foreign partners in the domain of buyout, storage and transport of primary agricultural products from Serbia – Tomasevic pointed out.

The Novi Sad-based company Promist has been distributing fertilizers for 20 years.

HIP Azotara was sold recently for RSD 650 million. It has been in bankruptcy since 2018, and at the previous two sales, which were unsuccessful, it was offered at initial prices of 5.8 and 2.3 billion dinars.

Azotara went into bankruptcy as the biggest producer of mineral fertilizers in Serbia and the only producer of ammonia.
