Down the Roads of the Obrenovic Dynasty – Serbia to Get a New Tourist Route

(Ovcar Banja) “Down the Roads of the Obrenovic Dynasty” (“Putevima Obrenovica”) is the new big tourist route that will pass through three municipalities of the Western Serbia. Along with the “Road of Roman Emperors” (“Put rimskih careva”) tour, it will be a new tourist tour prepared by the Tourism Organization of Cacak and the national platform “Serbia Creates” (“Srbija stvara”), with the support of the Government of Serbia.

The “Putevima Obrenovica” route connects two lakes and two consecrated sites, three spas (Ovcar, Atomska and Slatinska), five museums and localities, seven monuments and 10 monasteries.

The main requirement for the new destination – the construction of the Milos Veliki highway – has been built.

Many tourists have been visiting the Cacak area already, but in the form of single-day outings. With the planned project, the coordination of the private and the public sectors, with the announced investments in the infrastructure, the entire destination of the Ovcar-Kablar Gorge is creating conditions for an eventful multi-day stay.

– The aim is for the tourists to stay longer, spend more and come back, but also to enable rural properties to sell their products in their own area – says Vojin Jakovljevic, the director of the Tourism Organization of Cacak.
