Czech Companies Looking to Invest in Serbian Spas, TC, Energy and Transport

Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali stated in Prague that Serbia would do everything in its power to attract, as soon as possible, Czech investors that want to invest in Serbian spas, telecommunications, energy and transport.

Following the meeting with Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry, Trade and Transport Karel Havlicek, Mali said that the meeting was constructive and successful and that it confirmed the excellent relations of the two countries, with potential for further economic cooperation.

He reminded that, in 2020, the foreign trade had reached EUR 1.2 billion and added that, in the first three months of 2021, it had been 18.2% higher.

Mali pointed out that the Czech Republic was among the top 10 foreign trade partners and said that it was important for Serbia to continue discussing all the potential investments and everything that could further contribute to the economic cooperation of the two countries.

The minister pointed out that Serbia realized a surplus in the trade, that is, that it exported more to the Czech Republic than it imported from it, and added that this was important for the citizens of Serbia due to a higher foreign exchange inflow and a better payment balance.

He pointed out that, for Serbia, the talks with Czech investors were of great importance and added that they could lead to new factories in Serbia, an increase in the employment rate, more money in the budget and more money for new infrastructure projects, pensions and salaries.
