Serbian Finance Minister Diana Dragutinović stated that different versions of tax reform were prepared and that she advocated for "revolutionary version", according to which the value added tax would be increased by 3%.
- What I advocate for is that fiscal burden on salaries, both taxes and contributions, be cut by third. The loss of incomes would be neutralized by the growth of VAT - Ms. Dragutinović told Biznis Magazin (Business Magazine).
The Minister specified that the salaries of up to RSD 16,500 would not be taxed, while the tax on higher wages would amount to 10%. She added that she would like the tax reform to be synchronized with the budget for 2011 and pointed out that the Government of Serbia would decide which version of the reform to apply.
