Mining-Smelter Basin (RTB) Bor will obtain the loan of EUR 10m for procurement of mining machines, which means that the loan of EUR 27m, which was taken earlier from the Development Fund for the same purpose, is going to be increased.

- The new loan will be spent on procurement of another four big trucks, two dredges and a drill - RTB CEO Blagoje Spaskovski said when the Europe's biggest dredge of make Komatsu was put in operation in Bor.

Spaskovski specified it was a favorable loan with the interest rate of 2.5%, grace period of three years, and ten-year repayment period.

RTB CEO said that the dredge, which was put in operation on June 19, was the biggest in Europe and that it can scoop 50 tonnes of barren soil at once.

- The new machine is worth EUR 4m and its annual capacity equals the capacities of four current dredges few decades old. This dredge means survival for RTB and Bor - said Spaskovski.

He added that quicker digging would enable the machines to reach the ore with 35% more copper, as well as that the copper mine in Majdanpek would also get new machines.
