Tara to become new skiing hit in Serbia, first investments - €2m

Starting next year, Tara will beome significant ski-center, the second best in the country, right after Kopaonik. On the territory of National Park "Tara", on section Mitrovac na Tari - Tisovo brdo, on the surface of 40 - 50 ha, the polygon for winter sports will be built and it will encompass four ski-tracks, snowboard track, big skating rink and all related facilities.

About €2m will be spent on the works, which will last for several years and will be carried out in several phases. A half of that amount will be provided by the landowner National Park "Tara" from cutting and sale of trees, whereas the remainder will be invested by some other interested companies, first of all – Children’s holiday hostel of City of Belgrade on Mitrovac na Tari. The location where the polygon for winter sports will be built on Mitrovac na Tari is suitable for both grown-ups and children. The height difference is about 200 meters, the tracks will be 250 - 300 meters long, while the longest will be 1 km long.
