State Lottery of Serbia competes for obtaining of license for casino

Ten months passed since State Lottery of Serbia was formed and the information on its operations show that its forming was justified. Last year, on the basis of all lottery games - classical (lotto, tombola) and non-classical (betting, slot machines, casinos...) about €8m have been paid into the budget. The State Lottery, which prepares only classical lottery games, will collect about €20m for budget. Bojan Krišto, director of the State Lottery of Serbia, says that the users of the means from the budget collected in this way will be paid 3 billion CSD or over €35m for preparation of lottery games.

If the tender for issuing of license for casino is completed this year, the budget incomes will reach amount of €50m.

There are still no plans for privatization of State Lottery of Serbia, but since the privatization is a must, the price of State Lottery of Serbia could exceed €300m at this moment.

State Lottery of Serbia will take part in the tender for obtaining of licenses for casino. According to the Law, there can be 10 casinos in Serbia – two in Belgrade and the others in other cities in Serbia. The price of license will most certainly be multimillion one.
