According to the press release by her ministry, Mihajlovic emphasized that the ministry had defined several strategic pillars – the legal framework, a new investment plan in energy and a reform of operations of public companies.
– We have prepared four laws as the foundation for the establishment of an improved business environment and new investments in energy and mining. There’s plenty of room for the continuation of the successful cooperation with EBRD, especially when it comes to the construction of medium and large hydro power plants, renewable energy sources – solar panels, biomass, wind farms. Energy transition and green energy are our priority – the ministry said.
She informed the EBRD president that the National Plan for Energy and Climate was being prepared and that the ministry would start preparing the Energy Development Strategy, with projected strategic goals for the next 20 years.
– We believe in energy transition and green energy and we are happy for everything you’ve done so far and are looking forward to the further cooperation. Renewable energy sources and clean energy are our key strategic goals. You’ve made a huge progress in a short amount of time. The new laws will lead directly to new investments and we are there to support you. Serbia is an example of good practice and it is taking the leading positions when it comes to RES. We can learn from you – said EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso.
