Development Agency of Serbia and Mizuho Bank Sign Memorandum for Support to Japanese Investors

The Development Agency of Serbia (DAS) and Mizuho Bank Ltd and its European branch Mizuho Bank Europe NV have signed a memorandum of understanding to the end of cooperation in providing support to Japanese companies which want to invest and operate in Serbia.

This is the first memorandum signed between the DAS and a Japanese bank. The cooperation that is made official with this memorandum aims to support strategic investments and contribute to an improvement of the business operations and the economic development of the Republic of Serbia, the DAS announces.

It is emphasized that, based on the future cooperation between the DAS and Mizuho Bank, potential investors and companies from Japan that are interested in operating in Serbia will be able to get all the information and advice they need from Mizuho Bank.

Furthermore, the DAS and Mizuho Bank will exchange valuable knowledge and experience and continue improving the dialogue between Japanese and Serbian companies in both countries.

Mizuho Bank Ltd. is a global finance institution with a strong base of Japanese clients, without a corporate presence in the Republic of Serbia. Since the founding of the Mizuho branch in Vienna, Austria, in July 2015, Mizuho has been expanding the scope of financial services for clients in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), promoting foreign investments in that region. In addition to the memorandum signed with the DAS, Mizuho Bank also officially cooperates with investment agencies from Austria, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania, to the end of improving client support in the region.
