Agro Milovanovic from Ivanjica is to begin the construction of a cooling plant in the upcoming days, and the plant should be put into operation in June.

– The cooling plant that we are building is to operate at temperatures below zero, and the plan is to store fruit at –18 to –20 degrees Celsius. The total area of the facility is around 770 m2 and it consists of two chambers, the total capacity of which is 1,000 tons of frozen fruit. In addition to that facility, we are also building 500 m2 of storage space for the packaging – Aleksandar Milovanovic says for eKapija.

The cooling plant will be located in the industrial zone in Ivanjica, next to the Pozega-Ivanjica main road, three kilometers away from the Ivanjica center and several hundred meters away from the company’s current facility, which is used for collection and storage.

– The facility is primarily meant for the storage of raspberries and blackberries, the buyout of which is our predominant activity. However, when we expand the capacities, we plan to start buying out other kinds of fruit, as well as forest fruits, which are present in the territory of the municipality of Ivanjica – Milovanovic says.

When it comes to the plans for the upcoming period, our interviewee says that, according to the urban project, the construction of another product storage facility on the same parcel is envisaged, where, in the upcoming years, a certain section of the space would be used for the making of final products from the fruit they buy out.

– Also, the plan is for us to penetrate the foreign market in the upcoming years, since we have done business in the local market exclusively so far – Aleksandar Milovanovic says.
