Gas Interconnection with Bulgaria to be Completed in May 2022

The public call for the selection of the contractor for the construction of the gas interconnection between Serbia and Bulgaria is to open next week, and the agreement should be signed in the summer, Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic stated in Sofia and added that she expected the gas pipeline to be operational in May 2022.

Mihajlovic talked to Bulgarian Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova about the construction of the Serbia-Bulgaria gas interconnection, but also about cooperation in other fields of energy.

– This will increase the competitiveness and make for more favorable gas prices. Bulgaria has completed the tendering procedure – Mihajlovic said.

Petkova pointed out that the gas interconnection enabled a diversification for the whole region and added that it would be of benefit to the economy and the citizens alike.
