South East Europe Automotive Suppliers Industry Trade Fair opened - 100 participants

First International South East Europe Automotive Suppliers Industry Trade Fair 2010 Auto Compo Net, which gathers about 100 companies, was opened today (May 19, 2010) at the Šumadija Fair in Kragujevac. It will be opened prior to May 21.

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dačić said at the opening ceremony that that fair was the proof that decentralization was possible because a local business initiative had got the support from Serbia, the Balkans and European institutions.

- The Balkans as a unique business area can grow into the Balkan automotive region because it has a very strong network of automotive suppliers that meet all global standards - said Dačić.

As he explained, in that way, this region can become attractive for relocation of the production capacities of global automotive companies.

Automotive suppliers from Croatia, Macedonia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia will present their product portfolios at 1,600 square meters of exhibition space.

Participation in the trade fair has been confirmed by the representatives of the accompanying industries of machines and equipment, domestic and international organizations and institutions engaged in supporting the automotive industry development, business associations, chambers of commerce and clusters.

This event will also be the occasion for presentation of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, the automotive clusters of Slovenia, Serbia and Macedonia, JAPTI-Slovenia, the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Chamber of Commerce of Macedonia, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and German Organization for Technical Assistance (GTZ).

- The first trade fair will become the central gathering place of suppliers, buyers and managers, as well as the users of products and services related to production, maintenance and servicing of automobiles and commercial vehicles, as a step towards forming the vision of the Automotive region - Western Balkans - the organizers announced.

The European SME Week campaign, of which aim is to promote entrepreneurship through organization of various events, will also be presented at the fair.

2010 Auto Compo Net is organized by the Regional Chamber of Commerce Kragujevac - the Western Balkans Automotive Industry Excellence Center and the Šumadija Fair.
