No decrease in prices of fuel at gas stations in Serbia

The oil company “Petrobart” AVIA announced that, in accordance with the parameters of the Regulation on the forming of oil derivative prices, conditions for lowering the price of oil derivatives at gas stations in Serbia haven’t been met, although the price of raw oil on the world market is at a descent.

The average price of crude oil “Ural”, from the last gasoline price increase on Sept. 8, 2005 until today, equals $54.985 USD per barrel, while the average exchange rate of the USD is 71.48 din. That resulted in a decrease of the total price of raw oil by 1.6%, in dinars, which isn’t enough for a price correction, because it doesn’t exceed 2.5%, which is implied by the Regulation.

During that period, the price of raw oil decreased by 6.5%, but, at the same time, the course of the USD rose by 4.5%.

Government’s Regulation on the forming of oil derivative prices implies correction if the price of crude oil and exchange rate of USD are changed by 2.5% and the last correction took place at least one month ago.

Starting September 28, 2005, the following prices are in effect at gas stations in Serbia: 1 liter of MB 95 and BMB 95 cost 77.60 CSD, D2 is 66.10 CSD, while eurodiesel costs 72.20 CSD. (Tanjug)
