(Darko Trbojević)
With effect from May 4th, Darko Trbojevic joins the team of Commerzbank AG’s Representative Office in Belgrade. He will take on the position as the Bank’s local Representative for Serbia and Macedonia. At the same time he serves as Deputy Head of the Belgrade Office.
Mr. Trbojevic was previously employed with several Serbian banks, including Piraeus bank AD and Moskovska banka AD, where he participated in the very formation and set up of the bank’s international department, being that it was a green field venture. He acquired international experience in the United States after finishing university in New York.
Commerzbank is considering Central
and South East Europe as one of its core markets, where it has a particularly
long tradition. Participating in the rapid progress in the development of Serbia’s
financial sector, Commerzbank in 2001 joined the group of founding shareholders
of ProCredit Serbia in which it currently holds 16,7%. The scope and the speed
in the development of trade and business relationships between Serbia and Germany
determined Commerzbank’s decision establishing a physical presence in 2004 by open
a Representative Office in Serbia.
In 2006 the responsibility of the office was expanded to Macedonia.
The Serbian Representative Office is facilitating Commerzbank’s interbank business in Serbia and Macedonia. The office, furthermore, supports the activities of corporate clients and is maintaining contact with official institutions in these countries.
Currently a significant part of Serbia’s international payment transactions and the bilateral trade between Serbia and Germany is handled, facilitated and/or confirmed by Commerzbank. The bank has managed to establish correspondent relationships with all major local commercial banks.
