BMW, DaimlerChrysler AG and General motors develop hybrid systems together

The biggest players in automobile industry, concerns BMW Group, DaimlerChrysler AG and General motors, have signed the agreement on joint development of hybrid systems.

The cooperation does not mean development of single vehicle, but the technology. To say it more precisely – it is about the heart of the vehicle, the driving system. Everything else is completely individual procedure.

For the purpose of development, the joint development center will be soon opened not far away from Detroit. It will employ, in the first phase, about 400 experts who will work on development of numerous systems and individual components, from electric motors and steering electronics to new security systems and entire regulation units for hybrid drives.
