Further Development of Cooperation with Germany in Energy Sector

The increase of energy efficiency is one of the priority areas in which we expect a successful cooperation with Germany, Serbian Mining and Energy Minister Zorana Mihajlovic said in her conversation with the Ambassador of Germany in Serbia, Thomas Schieb.

– I believe that there’s room to enhance the cooperation in the fields of green energy and energy transition – Mihajlovic said.

She talked to Schieb about mining and energy, especially the increase of energy efficiency and green energy, the government says on its website.

Mihajlovic pointed out that the cooperation in the previous Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure had been very good and that she believed that it would continue successfully in the fields of mining and energy as well.

According to her, the ministry is preparing a new legislative framework and reforms of e-energy and e-mining, which will simplify the procedures and open this sector for new investments.

It was said at the meeting that the total value of the projects that are being realized, with the support of the German Development Bank KfW, including the ministry, as well as public enterprises, was more than EUR 800 million.

Ambassador Schieb expressed his conviction that the cooperation with the relevant ministry would further expand and noted that energy was one of the most important sectors for the German Development Bank.

– We also have great experience with the Green Agenda and the energy transition, which we are ready to share with you – he said.
