18,000 automobiles from Kragujevac-based factory in 2006

Administrative Board of Zastava’s Automobile Factory adopted the production plan for year 2006, which includes production of 18,000 vehicles. Of that number, 16,540 will be intended for local and the rest will be for the foreign market. The local buyers will be offered 9,900 "korals", 3,340 "skalas", 2,200 "floridas", 600 "skala polis" and 500 "florida polis". Zastava’s automobiles will be exported to Egypt, Syria, Macedonia and some other neighboring countries, one of which is Croatia, since "koral" recently passed the last test related to fulfillment of "euro 3" standards and regulations.

The plan for the next year does not include production of "zastava 10", first of all because "zastava 10", according to the contract signed with Fiat, will be produced in the units of Italian company in Torino in 2006, as well as because the assembling of that model in Kragujevac will be carried out in the newly formed company Zastava auto.

The production plan of Zastava’s Automobile Factory for the year 2006 is bigger than this-year one, which was rebalanced to 15,000 vehicles, by one fifth. Zastava estimates that the Automobile factory will produce between 12,000 and 12,500 vehicles instead of projected 15,000 in 2005. The sales will be somewhat bigger than the production, since it is expected that Zastava will sell 14,000 automobiles, i.e. 4,000 more than the last year, on the local market in 2005.
