Delta Agrar, La verdura and Termalna Rivijera to have thermal spa built in Mačva - investment worth 80m EUR

Delta Agrar, La verdura and Termalna Rivijera are going to invest 80m EUR in construction of greenhouses and a resort with thermal water in the vicinity of Bogatić. The first phase will include construction of greenhouses and thermal pools worth 15m EUR and employment of 150 people.

Construction of greenhouses for fruits and vegetables will commence in May, while the works on sports-recreation complex are expected to start in June. The complex will occupy the surface of 20 ha and comprise a suite complex with 130 houses, two four-star hotels, indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

The value of the investment in the first phase is 15m EUR, while the first guests are expected already in May 2011 when the opening ceremony should take place.

This company will employ about 150 people in the first phase. The estimates are that the construction of whole complex will cost about 80m EUR and that total of about 550 people will get jobs in it. The completion of whole complex is expected in May 2012. This is the biggest investment in Serbia's tourism sector this season.

The founder and owner of Termalna Rivijera, Ljubiša Dragović, says that the complex will be open 365 days a year.

The basic idea is that Mačva's geothermal potential be used. The investor counts on large number of visitors because about 4m people live within the circle of 100 km.

Municipality of Bogatić will be obliged to pave about 800 meters of access road to the complex, as well as to build electric grid.

- I hope that other investors will also realize the advantages of Mačva's plain and use them in the right way to benefit all - says Radenko Petrić, the Mayor of Bogatić.
