Passive solar houses from Total Green Solution - Niš-based company started making models of facilities

Project bureau Total Green Solution, which deals with elaboration of preliminary and main projects and drawing of plans for facilities and interiors, has recently started making professional architectural models. People in that Niš-based company say that every facility is better presented by a touchable model than by a 3D model, especially when it comes to the company's "house specialty" – drawing of plans for passive solar houses. As they say, such facilities must be built exactly to the blueprints, without any additional changes.

- We are among the first companies in Niš, and probably the first, to deal with drawing of plans for passive solar houses. The project specifies how the house can use solar energy, geothermal energy, wind energy. In passive solar architecture, natural environment factors are the most significant elements of the energy reception system, that is, the behavior of buildings as energy facilities – Sanja Stevanović, an architect in Total Green Solution, explains for eKapija.

The essence of this concept in architecture lies in the knowledge and application of physical and natural laws (warming, cooling, air circulation and heating insulation) for making a house that behaves as a heat regulator. Unlike active solar systems, passive solar design does not include any mechanical and electrical connections such as pumps, ventilators and electric controls for creation of solar heat.

Sanja Stevanović says that the aims of such concept are healthier life and environment protection. According to her, this concept is suitable for both residential and business facilities.

- The price of such construction is between 5 and 15% higher than the price of construction a common house, but the investment pays off in 10 to 15 years - says Sanja Stevanović.
