The City Assembly of Subotica has reached the decision on adopting the Detailed Regulation Plan for the construction of Maestrala Ring Wind Farm.

The director of the Public Enterprise for Road Management, Urban Planning and Housing of Subotica, Predrag Radivojevic, said that the area had 6,700 hectares, that the wind farm would have 600 MW of power and that it would produce more than a thousand GWh a year, which is enough to cover 200,000 households.

– What will remain as the permanent benefit for the city of Subotica is a network of over 100 km of village roads, which should allow the equipment to reach those 113 pole locations, that is, the locations for the 113 wind generators – Radivojevic pointed out, as announced on the city's website.

He notes that the DRP is only the first step toward the preparation of the project and that the investor will continue developing this project to its construction, in cooperation with the competent ministry and the institutions of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.

– When the construction starts, 300 to 400 people, mostly local residents, will be employed on the construction of this wind farm – Radivojevic said.
