Subway, Expansion of BG Voz, Bypass Route Around Belgrade – What Does the 2021 Budget Entail?

The draft budget of the City of Belgrade has been defined and uploaded to the website of the City Assembly of Belgrade. The budget amounts to RSD 124,553,833,604, or a billion and 64 million euros, the deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic, said on RTS. He invited the citizens to take part in creating the budget for the next year together with the city authorities.

– The budget is smaller that this year, before coronavirus, because the budget at the beginning of this year was one billion and 205 million euros. We will propose for this budget to be used to carry out a range of large infrastructure projects. We are inviting citizens to take part in creating next year's budget together with the city authorities – Vesic said.

He mentioned more than 19 billion for the construction of infrastructure in Belgrade and the continuation of the development of the city, Beoinfo reports.

– The budget will be used for the beginning of the construction of the subway, we will start expanding the BG Voz system, the bypass route around Belgrade is being completed, a hundred new gas-powered buses are being bought, we will build 11 new kindergartens. Furthermore, we will continue building the water system Makis-Mladenovac, we are building an internal bypass route, Patrijarha Pavla Blvd, we are beginning to build underground garages, a waste water treatment facility in Veliko Selo, we are closing the Vinca landfill and building a waste treatment facility there, the construction of a sewer system on the left coast of the Danube is to start, as is the construction of health centers in Borca and Ugrinovci – Vesic said.
