– In order for Serbia to be able to be the most important transit corridor, EMS needs to operate as successfully as possible, and compared to all the companies in this sector, it is one of the best. Our mutual interest is to connect with the region, and we ended today's meeting satisfied because Serbia is realizing one of the biggest projects in this field, which is the construction of the Trans-Balkans Corridor – Zorana Mihajlovic said in her conversation with the director of Elektromreza Srbije (EMS), Jelena Matejic.
According to her estimate, this is an important project, because it will enable the transfer of sufficient quantities of electricity, with minimal losses, thereby creating a sustainable and safe system.
Matejic said that important topics had been discussed at the meeting and that the close cooperation between companies in the electric energy system and the competent ministry was necessary.
– We will prove that it has always been our goal. Energy is the key factor for the stability and security of the whole Serbia, not just the energy system, but also as the potential for the further growth of the economy and the state – said Matejic, as announced on the government's website.
