A Serb from Chicago "buys" Herceg Novi

Branko Tupanjac, a Serb from Herzegovina who lives in Chicago (USA), is interested in procurement of 3 million square meters of land, from cape Arze to Plava špilja (Blue cave), on the Luštica peninsula in Municipality of Herceg Novi. According to the General Spatial Plan of Municipality of Herceg Novi, Luštica peninsula, settled on the entrance to Bay of Kotor, on about 36 square kilometers, represents unlimited potential for development of all kinds of tourism. This afforementioned document implies construction of 35,000 square meters of beach, hotel with 2,000 beds and big number of weekend cottages on the space where 300 people live on permanent or temporary basis.

Besides Tupanjac, the Russians, Englishmen, Irish and Scandinavians, as well as the businessmen from SCG, showed great interest in procurement of land in this part of Municipality of Herceg Novi. Branko Tupanjac is one of the richest Serbs in diaspora. He lives in Chicago and deals with sale of real estates. He is also known as benefactor who invest a lot in his native Trebinje. He was also financier of People’s Party in the time when its president was Novak Kilibarda.
