Slovenian Viator Vektor and Greek Spider interested in privatization of Zastava Trucks

Slovenian company Viator Vektor is interested in privatization of Zastava Trucks, i.e. in procurement of entire factory or its part. The managers of Viator have recently visited Zastava and they have been introduced to the production program and potential of the truck factory. According to unofficial information, Viator Vektor is interested in organization of production of minibuses and armored transporters for needs of the NATO army in certain units of Zastava Trucks. That Slovenian company already produces minibuses and armored transporters in Maribor-based TAM and it is willing to relocate part of the production into Kragujevac.

Greek company Spider is also interested in privatization of Zastava’s truck factory. The company from Greece intends to start production of truck superstructures in Kragujevac. There is also possibility that Viator Vektor organizes production of minibuses and armored transporters in Proleter (part of Zastava Trucks) and buys company for production and sale of truck spare parts, whereas, in that case, Greek Spider could buy other production-working units of Zastava Trucks.

Tender for privatization of Zastava Trucks should be announced until the end of November, or at the beginning of the next month. Let us remind that Viator Vektor is majority owner of Zastava Šped.
