Mihajlovic told Tanjug that a month ago Serbia received approval from China-based Exim Bank and the Chinese ministry to obtain a loan to finance the construction of Fruska Gora Corridor.
– The project - technical documentation will be drawn up by the end of the year. I believe that we will start working on the corridor by the end of next year, she said.
According to Mihajlovic, the start of construction hinges on available budget funds, because part of the advance is given by the government of Serbia, while the other part comes from the loan.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the construction of the Fruska Gora corridor is also important for the connection to the Ruma-Sabac-Loznica section.
She explained that the corridor is a part of Novi Sad–Ruma–Sabac–Loznica route that stretches to the Bosnia and Herzegovina border and connects Serbia with Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and its surroundings.
Mihajlovic said that the corridor will connect Novi Sad, Irig and Ruma and will solve the problem of cargo vehicles passing through Fruska Gora and Irig municipality, the notice on the Government's website states.
