Nis Could Get New Ski Resort On Kamenica Hill

The ski resort on Kamenica could get restored, it was stated in the meeting between the President of the Nis City Municipality Pantelej, Natasa Stankovic, relevant council member , Zoran Ignjatovic and PE Srbijasume – Forest Estate Nis expert team led by Deputy Director Darko Zaev.

FE Nis has decided to renew the equipment on the excursion site Kamenica Hill, to add features to Dabilo picnic site and, as the manager of forest lands, to help Pantelej City Municipality to restore the ski resort on Kamenica Hill. Furthermore, the participants reached an agreement on joint reforestation activities in excursion spots in the Pantelej municipality, states the notice on the city municipality website.

The meeting was also dedicated to Pantelej municipality facilitating the procurement of project documentation for reconstruction of the old bridge in Oreovac, necessary for continued operations of Forest Estate machinery and normal traffic flow in the village, along the entire road leading to the popular paragliding starting point on Visegrad peak, one of the city's most attractive locations and strategic and development priority for Pantelej municipality.

According to project documentation, Srbijasume would fund the reconstruction of the bridge at the start of the next construction period together with assets provided by the corresponding ministries. The construction of the road to the paragliding starting point is expected to be finished towards the international paragliding competitions, that were postponed for next year due to coronavirus pandemic.
