Russian Vaccine Effective Against Coronavirus?

The Russian vaccine against coronavirus created neutralizing antibodies in dozens of tested subjects, and although it often caused unwanted side-effects, they were mostly mild, according to the medical journal The Lancet.


In the studies carried out within the first and the second phase of the vaccine's development, called Sputnik V, all 76 participants developed antibodies, the journal says.

According to the researchers, the results also suggest that vaccine produce a response by T cells within 28 days.

As for the negative effects, the study says that a half of the participants got a fever, whereas 42% experienced headaches. Around 28% felt weakness and 24% reported pain in the joints.

The article says that most of the adverse effects were mild.
