Four bidders for overhaul of Jat's engines - tender worth 7m EUR

The bids on the tender for repairs and overhaul of four jet engines of Jat Airways have be submitted by four companies from abroad.
The bids are submitted by Lufthansa Tehnik from Germany, Bedek from Israel, Snecma from France and NEC from Norway, and the value of the tender is about 7m EUR.
- The Tender commission should make the decision in ten days at the latest, and four jet engines of the national airliner should be revitalized prior to June 1st - said Dejan Ćuković, a member of the Tender commission.
He said that two airplanes would be put back in use in that way and that Jat Tehnika was working on revitalization of five engines of Jat Airways.
All bidders announced that Jat Airways would pay for the overhaul of engines upon their delivery. The most important criteria in the selection of the most favorable bidder will be the price, the methods of payment and the deadline for delivery of engines.The invitation for submission of bids for the overhaul of engines has also been sent to local Jat Tehnika.
- Completing of the fleet of the national arliner will enable more efficient organization of air traffic to numerous destinations - said the President of the Tender commission, Željko Krstić, who is also the Executive Director of Jat Airways.
He said that the national airliner had increased the number of passengers in the first two months of year 2010 by 2% against the same period in 2009 in spite of the global crisis in air transportation, as well as that maximum 9 out of total of 15 airplanes had been flying in aforementioned period.
