Public discussion about Action plan for biomass on March 18th


The Ministry of Energy and Mining of Serbia and the Association for Energy and Energy Mining within the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia are going to organize a public discussion about draft Action plan for biomass, which was made as a part of the Serbian-Dutch biomass and biofuel project. The discussion will take place on March 18th, 2010, at 11 AM, in the premises of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (PKS) – 23 Terazije Street.
According to the website of PKS, the aim of the Action plan for biomass is to define the strategy for use of biomass as a renewable energy source, having in mind the potentials and relevant national strategies, as well as European directives.
One of the most important tasks of the Action plan for biomass is to determine the problems and obstacles in the process of use of biomass and the activities for their surmounting.
For the purpose of making this draft, a task force was made of the representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Mining, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Power Engineering, the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, the Ministry of Science and Technological Development, the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development, the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, the Energy Efficiency Agency, the Provincial Secretariat for Energy and Mineral Raw Materials, the Faculty of Forestry Engineering and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade, company Srbijašume, the Embassy of Kingdom of Netherlands to Belgrade and non-government organizations.
