Factory Azohem in Subotica opened new units for production of crystal fertilizers - investment worth 2.5m EUR

New unit for production of crystal fertilizers, in which about 2.5m EUR were invested, 40m RSD of which were provided by the Government of Vojvodina, was opened on Friday (March 5, 2010) within factory Azohem in Naumovićevo near Subotica.

- The new unit for production of crystal fertilizers in Azohem is of manifold significance. On one hand, the unit will employ 120 workers in direct and indirect production. On the other hand, production of crystal fertilizers in this unit is refined, which will enable higher efficiency, rationality and better productivity of our agricultural production - said Dr. Bojan Pajtić, the Prime Minister of Vojvodina.

He added that it was important that certain share of crystal fertilizers produced in Azohem's new unit would be exported.

Predrag Mališanović, the CEO of Azohem, said that the construction and the overhaul of the unit for production of crystal fertilizer had taken one year. This is the only unit of the kind in Serbia, as well as in the countries of former Yugoslavia where this type of fertilizer is produced.

Mališanović said that the consumption of crystal fertilizers in our country was constantly growing and that they were used for intensive production in greenhouses. Production of 7,000 tons of crystal fertilizers is in the pipeline for this year, 50% of which will be exported.
