Minister of Justice of Serbia, Zoran Stojković, announced that the Law on DNA registry, along with the laws on data collecting and privacy protection, should be passed until the end of 2005.

At the seminar on application of genetics in the legal system, which was held in Valjevo, Stojković said that those laws would be the final link in the chain of regulations that are required for Serbia to join EU.


The aim of the seminar was that the judges, prosecutors and inspectors of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from the region of Kolubara become aware of the significance of application of DNA analyses of evidences in the finding of the person who committed homicide or a sexual crime.

The lecturers at the seminar were: export for science and technology from the Executive Secretariat of CEI, Gianfranco Chikoniani, and the president of Supreme Court of Serbia, Vida Petrović Škero.
