- Triglav Kopaonik in Serbia especially counts on the growth of life insurance in the future period, of which share in overall insurance grew from 0.8% in 2002 to 13.5% in 2008 - people from the company announced.
A member of the management of Triglav, Boštjan Vovk, and the President of the Administrative Board of Triglav Kopaonik, Milan Skok, pointed out that two thirds of total premiums in developed countries were life insurance premiums.
It is estimated that lack of information is the biggest cause for underdevelopedness of that type of insurance in Serbia, while another reason is the citizens' lack of trust as the consequence of the problems and various frauds that occurred in the 1990's.
It is stated in the announcement that, after the acquisition of Kopaonik, new company Triglav Kopaonik gradually grows and that it now holds 4% of Serbian market. The company's strategic plan is to resume the growth in order to increase its share in the insurance market in Serbia to 10%.
Triglav Group also plans to conquer the markets in Albania, Romania and Bulgaria, and it registered the gross premium of over 1bn EUR in 2009.
- Triglav is present in eight countries - in all countries of former Yugoslavia, Czech Republic and Slovakia, and it holds 20% of the markets in ex-SFRY - it is stated in the announcement by that insurance company.
