Global 500 Most Successful List Features 133 Companies from China

The Global 500 list which covers the 500 most successful companies in the world features 133 companies from China, including those from Hong Kong and Taiwan, as well as 121 companies from the United States.

These 500 companies had an income of 33.3 thousand billion US dollars in 2019 and a profit of two thousand billion US dollars. They employ nearly 70 million people worldwide, according to the Fortune magazine, which published the list.

At the top of the list is the American corporation Walmart. The biggest Chinese oil group, Sinopec, is second, followed by two Chinese state-owned companies, State Grid and China National Petroleum.

There are 12 Chinese companies in the top 50, including four banks, ICBC, CCB, ABC and the Bank of China, CRI reports.

The Chinese tech giant Huawei placed 49th this year, followed by China Railway Engineering Group.

Global trade is the driving engine of the success of global companies. The ability to find new markets and realize imports is also among the deciding factors, the magazine says.
