Sport Time Balkans Authorized to Purchase Roda Mega Facility in New Belgrade from Mercator-S

The Commission for Protection of Competition (KZK) has authorized the company Sport Time Balkans to purchase a part of the property of Mercator-S in Belgrade, as announced on KZK's website.

Sport Time Balkans (STB) is the exclusive distributor of Nike for Serbia, BiH, Macedonia, Montenegro and Albania. In Serbia, it has three related business entities: Planeta Sport, Sport Vision and Logistar.

STB is buying Roda Mega in New Belgrade from Mercator-S. Roda Mega consists of property at 35 Djordja Stanojevica Street in New Belgrade, retail facilities in the shopping center and the accompanying construction land of 22,477 square meters. STB intends to keep leasing retail facilities for the sale of consumer goods at the shopping center.

KZK has examined the impact of this transaction on the market of Belgrade and concluded that, by area, the shopping center amounts to 1.5% of the market, whereas, by income, it amounts to less than 1% of the market.
