Serbia has access to EU's projects worth 850m EUR

The Deputy Head of the European Union's Delegation in Serbia, Adriano Martins, said yesterday (February 25, 2010) that Serbia had access to the EU's projects worth 850m EUR.

Martins said at the "One Step Closer to European Integration" conference that 430m EUR was the value of current support and projects, while the remaining 420m EUR were mainly in the tendering procedure and that Serbia would be able to use them within next two years.

He said that EU annually set aside 200m EUR for Serbia, which put it among the countries with the biggest individual support of the EU.

According to his words, additional work is necessary in order for Serbia to be able to use the EU's funds. He hopes that, if it meets all conditions, the Government will be able to dispose of money by itself already in 2011.
