Topiko from Bačka Palanka to improve production - 25m EUR worth of investments within next three years

Perutnina Ptuj Group will invest 25m EUR in Topiko from Bačka Palanka within next three years. That company, in which Slovenian group invested 25m EUR since 2008, plans to ensure primacy of its poultry products in the country and the region.

- Investments in our staff, infrastructure, live production and cooperation, poultry meat processing units and, primarily, financial consolidation helped us provide a solid base for work - said Franc Čelan, the CEO of Topiko.

Čelan pointed out that, in the future, Topiko would be focused on intensive market development and constant improvement of technologies for poultry breeding and poultry meat processing and, especially, implementation of quality standards at all levels of preparation of healthy, quality and safe food of poultry meat.

Topiko currently has 874 workers, 100 of whom work at its partners. According to the words of the management, if the plans for growth of the volume of production are fulfilled, the conditions will be created for employment of new people, primarily experts from the fields of agriculture and food technology.

Perutnina Ptuj had the income of 250m EUR in 2009, 32m EUR of which in Serbia.

According to Petar Ćuk, the CEO of Tehnooprema, the process of introduction of Perutnina Ptuj's standards in all phases of production was finished in 2009, so that Topiko started offering the products of Perutnina Ptuj in Serbia. In that way, popular products of this Slovenian company became a domestic brand. In addition to being produced in Serbia, these products are made of domestic raw materials.
