After a range of warnings about unsafe navigation in Belgrade (the Sava river, 0-15 km), the sector of the confluence of the Sava and the Danube and insufficient inspection supervision over the vessels, no positive results have been produced. The problems have started appearing in Novi Sad as well (1250-1265 km), the Association of Professional Boatmen of Serbia says on its website.

As they point out, vessels are often docked on navigable paths, obstructing the passage of other vessels and often tying to navigation safety objects, such as the buoys marking the navigable path, which is strictly prohibited by law. They also get in the way of large vessels and jeopardize the safety of navigation to a considerable extent.

This, as well as the lack of adequate inspection supervision on rivers, leads to frequent stressful situations for navigators on large boats.

The association notes that the task of navigating the path beneath the bridges in Novi Sad and Belgrade in the summer period is demanding enough and that said additional problems make their job nearly impossible.
