The Committee of Italian-Serbian-Russian entrepreneurs will be formed on Wednesday (February 24, 2010) with the aim of stimulating economic cooperation between the three countries, based on the use of advantages of the Free Trade Agreement between Serbia and Russian Federation.
The aim of the Committee's formation is to make this big market available to large number of Italian-Serbian companies for the sake of their better cooperation in the future. In spite of the privileges based on the Free Trade Agreement with Russia, Serbia's export is worth only 300m EUR due to lack of sufficient number of the products interesting to international market.
Italian design in the sectors of clothing, footwear and furniture should make Serbian products more attractive, while the companies from Italy will be able to export products to Russia and Belarus with customs duty reliefs through cooperation with Serbian companies. In addition, Italian food products will enable the priority entrance of Serbian products to Russia. Furthermore, Italian side plans to introduce new agricultural products depending on the demand in international market, which will also be useful for domestic agricultural sector when we have in mind expected transformations and introduction of new technologies and typical sorts that make Italy the global leader.
Italy currently exports 53bn USD worth of products to Russia, and almost all of them belong to one of aforementioned sectors. It is expected that the Committee's opening ceremony will be attended by numerous representatives of Italian meat and dairy manufacturers, as well as footwear and clothing designers.
