Underwear and socks factory Modital, which is owned by Italian Pompea, plans to invest 4m EUR in a production unit in Zrenjanin.

The company's Human Resources Director Aleksandra Jakšić told Beta agency that the construction of the production unit had already started and that it was planned to be put in operation in April.

- That is our most complicated project in Serbia. In that way we would unite major share of production in the country. We are currently negotiating with the city officials in Zrenjanin on rental of another parcel for construction of a logistics center - said she.

The plan is that 25 people be employed in the new production unit, while another 70 people will get job in few months.

The factory in Zrenjanin currently has 176 employees and the annual production capacity of 63m socks.

Pompea is the first foreign investor in Zrenjanin. It started production in 2007 and it is among the leading exporters in the region of Central Banat.
