Based on an all-encompassing survey of the effects of the previous measures of preventing the economic consequences of coronavirus, which are currently carried out in more than a thousand companies, we will know which sectors are the most affected by the crisis and how to act further, said Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali.

He said on RTS that the survey, carried out with the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia and the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, was the most complete overview of the situation done up till then regarding the measures carried out by the government.

– We don't want to guess and that is why we are asking companies how they see the future, where they see problems and where they need help, how foreign purchasers are reacting, what the situation is like with the suppliers from abroad, so this is the most complete survey possible, based on which new measures will be created – Mali said.

He added that, when the coronavirus crisis started in February, the economy sector had asked for all-encompassing measures for everyone, but that it was known now which sectors are more affected and which less, what the companies' plans were and the challenges they were facing and it was now easier for the state to react.

When asked whether there will be money for the new measures, Mali says that we should wait and see what the new measures are.

The minister announced that the budget for 2021 was already being prepared.

– Last week, we sent the instructions for all budget beneficiaries and I expect them to present their goals and ideas by September 1, so that the budget would be ready for the parliamentary procedure in October – Mali said.

He also said that the VAT revenues were higher by four billion dinars than expected.
