Serbian Railways found Railway Car Factory in Kraljevo a job worth 593m RSD

- The Administrative Board of public company Serbian Railways decided to entrust 593m RSD worth of job of production and overhaul of railway cars to Kraljevo-based Railway Car Factory - the Mayor of Kraljevo, Ljubiša Simović, told Beta agency today (February 18, 2010).
- The Railway Car Factory will produce 50 new cars and repair 220 existing cars for the needs of Serbian Railways - said Simović and added that "the units will be employed starting today".
At the proposal of the Ministry of Economy, the Privatization Agency terminated the sales contract with Ukrainian company Azov Impex, the majority owner of the Railway Car Factory in Kraljevo, in mid-January.
The contract was terminated because the buyer failed to fulfill the investment obligations for the second and the third year of operations in total amount of 2.7m EUR, as well as because it did not respect the social program and failed to provide the job for the factory.
Out of total of 800 employees, the management sent 500 to unpaid leave due to lack of work.
Upon the termination of the privatization contract with Azov Impex, Marija Savković, a mechanical engineer who work in the Factory since 2003, was apppinted as the representative of the state-owned capital in the Railway Car Factory.
