Delta is not interested in Mercator

The names of potential buyers of one third of the ownership of Slovenian retail market chain Mercator have not been revealed yet. People in Arkas agency, which is in charge of sale of the stocks of six banks that own 20% of Mercator, point out that they are not going to reveal either the identity of bidders or the amount of their bids. This agency will be receiving the bids prior to end of April.

Although the unofficial information is that Serbian Delta is one of the potential buyers, people in this company deny that. In spite of the fact that Delta has already confirmed several times that it is interested in acquisition of Mercator and that it would be a strategic step towards expansion of Delta's retail business in the region, the company has not submitted the bid for procurement of stocks because, as they say, it is not interested in the share that is offered for sale.
