TOS: Number of Tourists in Serbia in the First Five Months of 2020 Lower by 52.8%

From January to the end of May, Serbia was visited by 610,374 tourists, which is 52.8% less than in the same period last year, the Tourism Organization of Serbia (TOS) announced.

As announced today, there were 369,194 fewer local tourists, a drop by 48.9%, and there were 241,180 fewer foreign tourists, a drop by 57.7% compared to the same period last year. In the first five months of the current year, there were 1,976,253 overnight stays by tourists, a drop by 44.3%.

In May, the number of tourists' arrivals was lower by 87.6%, whereas the number of overnight stays was lower by 82.6% compared to the same month last year.

The number of overnight stays by local tourists is lower by 76.4%, whereas the number of overnight stays by foreign tourists is lower by 94.4%.

– According to the information available to local tourism organizations, local tourists traveled slightly more within Serbia in June, which should be reflected in the statistical data for that month – the TOS says in its press release.
