- Croatian consortium, led by Konstruktor from Split, has submitted the written guarantees to the Government of Montenegro for financing construction of the highway from Bar to the border with Serbia - Montenegrin Ministry of Finance announced today.
It is stated in the short announcement that "written guarantees meet the tender specifications and enable financial contracting", so that the Government of Montenegro "will continue the procedure of analysis of submitted bids and contracting with Croatian consortium and finance institutions".
The initial deadline for submission of guarantees was December 9th, 2009, but the Montenegrin Government extended it for two months at the request of Konstruktor and, in the meantime, started informal talks with the second-ranked bidder on the tender - Greek-Israeli consortium Aktor HCC.
On the tender for construction of Bar-Boljare highway about 170 km long, the consortium from Split offered the price of 2.78 billion EUR, 1.74 billion EUR of which would be provided by Montenegro.
The commencement of preparation works for construction of the highway was made official last autumn in village Gornje Mrke near Podgorica, in the presence of prime ministers of Montenegro, Croatia and Serbia, Milo Đukanović, Jadranka Kosor and Mirko Cvetković, respectively.
