Ćuprija-based sugar plant to go bankrupt

The Ministry of Finance and Tax Administration in Ćuprija have submitted proposal to the TRade Court in Kragujevac for commencement of bankruptcy proceeding in the Industry of Sugar and Lemon Acid "ŠELK 911" in Ćuprija.

Not even after Privatization Agency helped it in the design of the restructuring plan, the Sugar Plant did not manage to come out of crisis. This factory had the last campaign related to processing of sugar beet in 1998, whereas its 480 workers did not obtain salaries since 1995.
