Prototype of first Serbian electric automobile produced in Zastava

- The prototype of electric passenger vehicle, based on the platform of Zastava 10 automobile, has been produced in Kragujevac-based Zastava - the members of Zastava's expert team who work on realization of that project announced.

Technical details of the first electric automobile produced in Kragujevac, of which driving characteristics are being tested, have not been announced yet. According to the first information, the vehicle will be able to travel at the speed of 120 km per hour and pass 100 km with one battery charge.


The President of the Assembly of Zastava's expert team, Zoran Radojević, said that "the alarming situation in the field of environment in the world" imposed the need for development of electric automobiles, but, according to him, we will have to wait for another few years for the assembly-line production of these automobiles to start.

- We estimate that it will take us few years to create conditions for assembly-line production of these vehicles, and we have chosen the optimal low-budget approach, with maximum use of existing models in the conversion of classical automobiles with internal combustion into electric automobiles - Radojević pointed out.
